Bunbee
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what the Bunbee app collects and why. Bunbee is made by AKRO-in. d.o.o., Slovenia, which is the data controller. We don't sell your personal data.
Stays on your phone
Your answers from setup, bake plans, step progress, journal notes and ratings, saved recipes and lesson progress are stored on your device. Step reminders are scheduled on your device too. Deleting the app deletes this data.
AI features
Ask Bunbee, photo checks and recipe snaps use AI. They only run when you use them, and the app asks before anything is shared the first time.
- Ask Bunbee: the question you type or speak is sent to our server and on to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) to write the answer. If you're in the middle of a bake, the recipe, step and ready time go with it, plus your local time, so the answer fits that moment.
- Photo checks and recipe snaps: the photo you take or choose is sent the same way, with the recipe and step name for a photo check, so the AI can check it or turn it into a recipe.
- Your questions and photos are used only to answer that request. We don't store them, and they aren't used to train AI models. OpenAI doesn't use API data to train its models.
- To apply the free limits, our server keeps a count of how often you use each AI feature, not what you asked or sent, linked to an anonymous account ID. Anonymous accounts are deleted automatically after 30 days.
Voice input
When you speak a question to Ask Bunbee, Apple's speech recognition turns it into text, on your device where supported. Bunbee only receives the text, never the audio. iOS asks for microphone and speech recognition permission first. Where your device can't do this on its own, Apple processes the speech under Apple's privacy policy.
Feedback
If you send feedback from the app, your message is emailed to our support inbox with the app version, your anonymous app user ID and your purchase status, so we can help. We only get your email address if you add it to the message, and we use it only to reply to you. We keep feedback only as long as we need it to handle your request.
Purchases
Purchases are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to confirm which purchases you have and to restore them. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your purchase history, never your payment details.
Analytics
We use Google Firebase Analytics in App Store and TestFlight builds to understand how the app is used, for example which screens are opened, when a plan is created or a bake is finished, and whether the paywall was shown. This includes device and app information such as model, OS version, country and app version. We don't send your notes, questions or photos to analytics.
Advertising attribution
We use the Meta SDK to measure which of our ads lead to installs and purchases. It receives app events such as installs, app opens and purchases. Your device's advertising identifier is shared only if you allow tracking when iOS asks; you can change this anytime in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking. Without permission, Meta receives aggregated measurements through Apple's SKAdNetwork.
Security services
Firebase Authentication gives each install an anonymous account so our server can apply limits, and Firebase App Check confirms requests come from the real app. Neither asks for your name or email.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms, and some of them are located outside the EU. Where that happens, they rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under the GDPR, you can ask to access, correct or delete your data, object to or restrict processing, or receive a copy of it. Email support@akro-in.si. Because most Bunbee data stays on your device and we use anonymous IDs, we may ask for details to find your data. You can also complain to your data protection authority; in Slovenia that's the Information Commissioner (ip-rs.si).
Children
Bunbee isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the effective date above, and tell you in the app if the change matters.
